After the release of the first report in 2017, Black Tech Mecca (BTM) has continued to lead the charge on compiling data that aims to fufill part of their mission to “paint a clearer picture of Black participation in local tech ecosystems.” On June 27, BTM founder, Fabian Elliott returned to Google for #CHISBTE19. The forum marks three years of research and focused on the 2019 theme Smart Black Tech Ecosystems: An In-Depth Analysis of Racial Equity in the Chicago Tech Sector.

On Tuesday, April 30, The National Coalition of Negro Women (NCNW) launched, #GIRLTECH, a conversation with professionals who may not have started in the technology field but found their passion has led them to companies or organizations where technology plays an important role.
